Abstract

Each of the 38 case studies in this book is authored by an expert in psychology, psychiatry, social work, or counseling. The cases have been clustered by work setting under the general headings of psychotherapy, forensics, medical centers, national security, organizations, schools, supervision, religious settings, and public service. Each manuscript follows a similar format; it begins with a case, followed by the author's discussion of the key ethical issues evoked, a summary of the primary ethical conundrums prevalent in the work setting, and a final personal reflection in retrospect regarding how he or she handled the ethical quandary. Each contribution concludes with a summary of salient ethical principles and standards as well as a list of resources for further reading.
